If Wise Men Really Spoke the Truth

If wise men really spoke the truth
They’d say: “The meaning of life
                    Is a dream spent remembering
                    An early morning bike ride
                    In May
                                Or
                    Sitting under the shade of a tree
                    In a windy field
                    On a clear June day
                    With a view of the fruit farm below
                              Or
                    Standing at the top of a tower
                    On a crisp, sunny January day
                    With a head full of
                                                This would be perfect
                                                As a memory
                                                Of a dream
                                                Of a summers day”.

Fading Blue Sky

The sky fades
                          to a deep blue,

tired from a day
of being
               so damn bright.

Deep, infinite blue, like inside,
where a spacious feeling
                   of
                   “everything is beautiful”
                                                               stretches forever
                                                               in all directions

Late at Night

It's late at night
and I feel like I'm floating
in space

I feel
like, somewhere, eventually,
everything falls down
to this,
a black, starless, cloudy night sky

I'm at the wrong end of the day
and it feels
so strange

It's like I'm somebody else entirely
and
I don't know why
